Wake Up Everybody was a compilation album released to coincide with the 2004 presidential election. The executive producers of the album were Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Tracey Edmonds, and Russell Simmons . Babyface decided to remake the Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes song entitled "Wake Up Everybody" and brought a whos who list of artists including: Mary J. Blige, Brandy, Missy Elliott, Eve, Faith Evans, Floetry, Ashanti, Wyclef Jean, Monica, Jadakiss, Fabolous, Akon, Jamie Foxx, Babyface, Rev Run, Omarion, Jon B, Marques Houston, Jaheim & Musiq Soulchild. The video was #1 on MTV for 10 weeks and was a strong driver for voter turn out on election day.

The album entitled "The Gospel According To Patti Labelle" was released on November 21, 2006 in conjunction with the late great Jeryl Busby. The album features collaborations with Yolanda Adams, Mary Mary, Kanye West, Wynonna Judd, The Soul Seekers, Tye Tribbett, CeCe Winans and more. The album was #1 on the Billboard Gospel Charts for 14 weeks and was Universals biggest selling Gospel album of that year. The album and part of its proceeds were donated to cancer research in honor of Patti's musical director Budd Ellisop who succumbed to cancer during the recording of the album.
